Sydney-based interior designer and friend of C+G Jess Maybury has a knack for creating spaces that feel both grounded and elegant. With a hands-on approach she combines practical design and poetic detail and has built a rep for crafting interiors that are warm, whimsical and deeply personal. Her latest project, which we had the pleasure of collaborating with her on, is no exception.

For this Bellevue Hill apartment, Jess reimagined a three-bedroom layout into a refined, four-bedroom family sanctuary filled with custom joinery, sweeping views and playful yet cohesive design choices.

With C+G linen adding softness to the story, we caught up with Jess to chat colour palettes, bedroom styling tips and why linen is her go-to from kitchen to bath.

C+G: Jess what fantastic interior design style you have – we have loved working on this project with you - can you give us some background?

Jess Maybury: Well, thank you! This project was for a lovely father and his 3 young girls in Bellevue Hill.

C+G: What colour palette did you go with for this project?

Jess Maybury: With each of the daughters having their own favourite colours, we approached each room with a distinct colour palette tailored to the individual, while maintaining a cohesive visual story throughout the home.

C+G: In 2025 are you seeing any key trends and what we can look forward to next?

Jess Maybury: As a studio, we really try to avoid fleeting trends, and trust our instincts to create timeless spaces that genuinely resonate with our clients.

C+G: When designing a house and their interiors especially in the bedroom does the linen set the scene for the rest of the room or what’s your plan?

Jess Maybury: Typically the first selection we will make for a bedroom is the bedhead shape and fabric as this usually sets the mood for the entire room. We will then specify the bedside tables, lamps, rug and any artworks. Only after these elements have been confirmed do we move on to the linen, treating it as the final cherry on the cake.

C+G: Do you love using linen in the kitchen and other rooms too like the bathroom for robes?

Jess Maybury: Definitely! I love using linen throughout the entire home – it adds such a beautiful, lived in effect to any space and it’s absolutely gorgeous to touch! I always tell my clients once you’ve slept in linen, you can never go back.
