You’ll know an Al + Imo timber bed frame as soon as you see it. Beautiful, locally sourced wood, simple assembly, seamless integration into its intended space - especially when paired with Carlotta + Gee pure French linen, as it so often is! Unmistakeably, their beds are built to last, heirlooms cherished for years on end. Based on Victoria’s Surf Coast, this team’s vibe is laid-back yet intentional, joy-filled yet grounded. The perfect mix, in our opinion, for designers.
We caught up for a quick chat about how they style C+G linen in plenty of their beautiful lifestyle shoots, including a beautiful recent custom timber bed frame matched with our rich Chocolate and Cream linen.

Al and Imo, we love you guys here at Carlotta + Gee, please tell us about your background?
G’day! We are Imogen and Al, a husband and wife duo from Victoria’s Surf Coast. Together we’ve been designing and building timber bed frames for almost 10 years! Alongside furniture we share DIY projects and furniture plans.
We know our values and aesthetic align so well so working with you was a match made in heaven, but what was it about Carlotta + Gee that made you want to work with us and our linen?
I remember coming across your “Marine Blue” and I fell in love with the colour. This led me to learn more about Carlotta + Gee, the linens truly complement our furniture so well and it’s been a pleasure to collaborate together on shoots! For our newest bed design we chose Chocolate and Cream which complemented a timber surfboard we used as art to style with the bed.

What are your next projects we can look forward to?
You can expect more gorgeous bed shoots from us, plus more DIY furniture plans and home improvement projects - we’re always working on something new at @the_good_day_house.
You guys obviously work a lot with custom timber to make bedroom furniture - why do you think linen works so well with it?
The texture in linen works so nicely with timber, you kinda can’t go wrong! My hot tip - if you’re styling a king-sized bed, make sure you get a couple of king-sized pillows and a bed cover or throw to break up the bulk of the colour and add dimension.

As you know, we’re are launching our kids and baby range in early 2026, so there will be lots more we will do together - what is available in your range for little people?
This is super exciting - love this for you (and us!). We’ve seen an increase recently in orders for our Single, King Single versions of our bedframes – in particular the Bookshelf Drawer Bed we shot with Carlotta + Gee linen earlier this year. We also have a Cot that we designed and made when we were expecting our first daughter. When people order our cot I get warm and fuzzies because I just know how special that period of time is and how many beautiful memories are about to be made. We also have a DIY plan for hanging bookshelves which are super popular and great for kids and baby rooms!
