One of 2022’s major highlights for us here at C+G was being featured in the innovative, sustainable and impeccably designed The Fabric, a project by our friends at Mirvac.
Launched late in the year, this development is an ambitious attempt to combine beautiful design with planet-friendly initiatives and features, all while ensuring ultimate comfort and a highly aesthetic outcome. What’s not to love?

Located in Melbourne’s Altona North, it’s being hailed as “a home for the future”, and shows how small tweaks can have big, positive impacts on the environment.
For example, this seriously smart and stylish development has gone deep on the detail, weaving sustainability into every nook and cranny. Featuring rooftop solar panels, all electric appliances, sustainable furniture and C+G’s all natural, non toxic, responsibly made and sustainable linens.

It’s a case in point of how thoughtful design and sustainability can work together for comfortable, beautiful and better for the planet lifestyle.
A total of 16 incredible partners are featured across the project, including yours truly. Everyone involved was chosen for their shared passion for sustainability and excellence in design. We’re delighted to count ourselves among such a brilliant bunch like Jardan, Smeg, Plyroom, The Dirt Company and Great Wrap.
Not convinced? Here’s a pretty amazing factoid. The Fabric received a 7-star NatHERS rating. In reality, this means it’s designed to use 27% less energy every year to heat and cool compared to a standard 6-Star home.
As Mirvac’s General Manager of Residential Victoria, Elysa Anderson says “Mirvac is at the forefront of driving change in housing sustainability initiatives and we understand that home efficiency is more important than ever to homeowners. The Future Ready Display Home is part of our long-term goal to improve our residents’ lifestyle by reducing their energy bills and environmental impact.”
If sliding between our sheets at The Fabric each night sounds like a dream come true, you can inspect and even purchase, but be quick, there’s limited opportunities! Head here for more. Or if you’re not in the market, simply sit back and take inspiration from their approach to curation and design. Here’s to making 2023 even more sustainable and beautiful for you, and the future planet.
