How do I take care of my linen products?

Our 100% French Flax linen is a natural fibre and should be treated delicately. It’s why it’s so great to sleep in and worth every cent. If you love your linen as much as we do, it’ll last a lifetime. To do this, we suggest reading our handy washing and care instructions here.

Where can I see the sizing information for your products?

Why does the colour I received look different to how it looks online?

We’re in the midst of switching all our imagery over to a new suite of photography, so please bear with us while we grow and have a variety of different images on our site.

Light can affect the way a colour appears in a photograph but we try to ensure they’re as true to the real product as possible. We’re always ready and willing to assist in selecting the right colour combinations or show your examples. We can also arrange colour swatches to be sent as well so you can get a feel for the exact product.

Please reach out if you’d like to chat colour or to request a swatch at hello@carlottaandgee.com or 0409 803 642.

Are your products certified?

100%, they are certified! We’re proud to say we have both the OEKO-TEX and GOTS certification.

How can I soften my linen?

Our linen is naturally already so soft! We pre-wash all our products with volcanic stones so it’s extra buttery by the time you’re ready to jump between your new sheets.

Another tip with our linen: the more you wash it, the more it will continue to soften.

Why is my linen shedding?

Linen is a natural fabric, but it shouldn’t shed for a very long time. The linen we use is French, which means it was grown in the best climate to ensure an extra strong product. If your linen is shedding or you’d like to prevent this for happening, it’s really important you follow our washing and care instructions here.

How can I make sure I get the right colour?

To ensure you make the right choice and to make life extra easy, you can touch, feel and see the linen before purchase.

Simply head here and select the colour(s) you’d like to sample and we will post the swatches to you.

If a colour isn’t available as a swatch, please reach out to hello@carlottaandgee.com and we will sort something out for you. It’s our aim to make sure you’re totally comfortable with your purchase ahead of time.

It’s also worth noting, that thanks to our return policy, you are welcome to order the product and if the colour is not right, you can simply return, exchange or refund it.

Which products to use when washing the linen?

We recommend using liquid laundry detergent every time. Undissolved powder can cause stains if it comes into direct contact with the linen.

We suggest using liquid from brands we know and trust, like Dynamo, Fab, Biozet or Omo. Plus, always wash with similar colours and on a gentle cycle!

We also recommend Bondi Wash delicate liquid for softness, but our linen is pre-washed in volcanic stones so it’s already lovely and supple.

What is the difference between duvet covers and quilts?

The trick is in the name. Duvet Covers are, well, covers. You take them off your duvet to wash them and replace them with a different cover/colour.

Quilts on the other hand are an all-in-one blanket where the outer casing doesn’t come off. They’re made with the same high-quality 100% French Linen as our duvet covers, plus the insert is cotton.

Our quilts are a great choice to layer for extra warmth, to cosy up with on the couch or to use as a summer blanket. They come in both queen and king sizes and are fully machine washable, so super easy to keep clean and fresh.

Quilts are a great choice if you want to commit to one colour too. Otherwise, opt for a duvet if you’d prefer to use a range of duvet weights and switch up your colour scheme (with the seasons or your mood).
