Owned by Singapore based Amber and Nick Heffernan it’s their family’s home-away-from-home, blending modern coastal style with barefoot luxury. Interiors flow effortlessly between open-plan living areas, breezy balconies and lush outdoor spaces, all grounded by a soft, sun-bleached palette of nude pinks, olive greens, sage, and surf blues.

Each detail—right down to the hand-painted bedroom doors—has been carefully curated to invite guests to unwind and feel instantly at home.

Guests can bounce between the heated pool, spa, and the ocean just a short stroll away, gather around the long dining table for slow dinners, or find their own quiet moment on a balcony with a view. Kids have their own playroom designed for hours of entertainment, while adults can retreat to co-working spaces, lounge areas, or the backyard for a sun-soaked afternoon spritz.

We recently caught up with Amber and Nick to hear more about how Uma on Werri came to life, their vision for creating a space where memories are made, and why C+G linens are part of the Uma experience.

Tell us your background story of how your amazing Uma on Werri came about?
Werri Beach is close to my heart as I grew up in the area. My husband and I live in Singapore but Uma on Werri is our home away from home and we are honoured to be able to offer it as a holiday home.

The aesthetic of the place is exceptional and so calming - what was the inspiration behind it? 
We wanted to create the ideal beach house so that friends and families can come together in our living and entertaining spaces and spend time together. Thoughtfully designed, spacious, private spaces for guests to retreat and refresh at the end of each day was also key to our brief. As was creating the barefoot luxury vibe. 

What can guests enjoy while they are staying?
Built across two-stories, the property offers both upstairs and downstairs lounge room spaces with plenty of room for guests to spread out and unwind. The balconies to the front and rear of the property ensure guests can watch the sun rise in the morning over the beach, and set in the late afternoon over the mountains.

The kitchen adjoins the dining space with long table seating for fourteen guests, then flows out via sliding doors to a large entertaining terrace.

For families, the kid’s playroom is a highlight with its playful design and hand-picked selection of books, games and toys to ensure the young ones are well entertained.

The grassy backyard is a good size for kids to play, alongside the heated swimming pool and heated spa. Bounce back and forth from the beach across the road to the swimming pool with ease.
